While searching around for music that might be categorized as "8-bit jazz" I consistently came across references to the group YMCK, a Japanese Chiptune band. Their work is wonderfully original, retains the general bright feeling of vintage 8-bit music, and is surprisingly refreshing amid the wide variety of music being released in the Chiptune world.
